Description
A mini-tower UPS with line interactive topology, the CyberPower PFC Sinewave CP1500PFCLCD provides battery backup, power protection (using sine wave output), and surge protection for desktop computers, workstations, networking devices, and home entertainment systems requiring active PFC power source compatibility. The CP1500PFCLCD uses Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) to correct minor power fluctuations without switching to battery power, which extends battery life. AVR is essential in areas where power fluctuations occur frequently.Two USB charge ports (1 Amp shared) power portable devices such as mobile phones, MP3 players, and cameras.

This review is based on one week of service, which included a power failure.
This UPS is a replacement UPS for a 2009 Mac Pro eight-core computer, Radeon 4870, four internal hard drives, and a 24? LCD monitor.
The computer was asleep when the power failure occurred. The LCD screen on the UPS indicated an estimated run time while asleep of 150 minutes. The UPS handled waking the computer up just fine and indicated an estimated run time of 17 minutes (computer at idle).
The UPS is virtually silent in day-to-day use. It?s directly compatible with Mac OS X?s energy saver (power control) system preference; not all UPS?s are. The Windows software is easy to use with a nice interface. It pulls data from the UPS to include current power usage and estimated battery run time.
I selected this UPS because of its adaptive sine wave feature which should be more compatible with newer computers. In addition, it has received good reviews in on-line forums.
